Divine Mercy Conference 2024 - MORE HERE
Our work here at Friends of Divine Mercy Scotland involves pursuing God's Will in our mission and outreach; sharing His love and His mercy with His children; our brothers and sisters in Christ. This has been and remains the driving force behind everything we do. Our sole purpose is to be God's eyes, ears, hands and feet here in this world - administering the message of The Divine Mercy, spiritually and physically in ways that are practical and meaningful..
Our team members come together for communion, prayer and fellowship at various venues including St. Mary's, (Paisley Diocesan Divine Mercy Shrine here in Scotland.), so that we can prepare ourselves for the many adventures that God has prepared. Our work over recent years has taken on many new adventures, the most fruitful of which being our community outreach with The Mercy Bus
Ten years ago a small group of prayerful Scottish Friends began meeting for prayer, under the mantle know as the Divine Mercy Devotion. We would meet in each-others houses, pray together, eat together laugh together and sometimes cry together. At the time we had no idea about what God was planning beyond our seemingly simple, but inspirational prayer meetings.
Our prayers and initiatives were beginning to have a huge impact around us, we were witnessing how our small acts of kindness combined with our Divine Mercy devotional prayer were literally transforming our lives and the lives of others. Bishop John Keenan (Paisley Diocese) has supported the mission from its beginnings, and has enabled it flourish and grow to become what it is today - Friends of Divine Mercy Scotland.
The Support of our Bishop John Keenan and the Diocese of Paisley has enabled our work in the The Divine Mercy to bear beautiful fruit. We have a Spiritual Director, Fr Michael Kane, (parish priest at St Augustine's Church, Coatbridge) who provides guidance and direction on our activities, and a large team of priests and lay people who support the various initiatives and activities that we undertake. We feel truly blessed that God has chosen Friends of Divine Mercy to extend His love to those who need it here in Scotland.
